Enchanted Garden

Elissa and Keith - May 3rd
Studio Impressions Photography – Marcus Bell at his best weaving photographic images into memories of an extraordinary day.

The English country setting of House of Laurels at Maleny on the Sunshine Coast Hinterland was contrasted with Asian accents to create a wedding with a difference. The leafy garden in which the ceremony was held was lined with white Italian country chairs. Chinese fans covered in a silver damask print were decorated with delicate pink roses combined with small orchids to replicate a blossom design. Larger displays on quaint white tables also set the scene.

Elissa's bouquet featured David Austin style roses with cymbidium orchids and black berry highlights. Keith’s buttonhole was a simple cymbidium orchid with a few black berries.

Guests then enjoyed an English afternoon tea in the garden while the bridal party visited nearby locations for photos. Pre-diner drinks and canapés were served in a stone courtyard to the soft tones of jazz. Harmony was also emphasised in the courtyard by an Asian themed display of bamboo, peony roses and orchids which was placed above a water feature. Old pine trees along one side of the Courtyard held blossom covered parasols, while the fading light of the day was complimented by softly lit hanging lanterns and damask covered candles.

Dinner was an intimate affair in the marquee like surrounds with individual phalaenopsis orchid plants potted in silver and white damask printed vases. Napkins were rolled and adorned with a pink spray rose and each guest’s place card and menu. The bride and groom sat at their own special table – ending an enchanting day.
