Amy and Dylan – April 14th Studio Impressions Photography – real people, real stories, real life.
This wedding focused around luminous peacock feathers and a colour palette of bronze, teal, olive and gold. Despite the often quoted “back luck” theory, the peacock feather is associated with good fortune, harmony and peace – these birds mate for life and so also represent fidelity. The bride and groom chose Avica resort on the Gold Coast as both their ceremony and reception venue. The charming wedding chapel was “christened” by the flower girl who, half way down the aisle, tipped her basket of petals in a pile on the carpet, much to the amusement of the guests. The pews had alternating heart and banner designs of fresh flowers fixed to special lazer-cut shapes. The heart shapes were used again to adorn the Tiffany chairs at the two family tables.
Amy’s bouquet included roses, freesias, hyacinth and orchids and the bridesmaids’ bouquets were just roses, all with wisps of dodda vine.
In the marquee half high and half low displays gave the area depth. Both were up-lit by special lights and included peacock feathers plus bronze and teal tea light holders. Tiny peacock birds perched on the candlesticks and even in the bridal table display two scaled down versions of these birds nestled amongst the flowers
Greg from Sweetums styled an amazing cake which was shown to advantage on a silver stand -- encircled with a wreath of green hydrangeas and cream lisianthus with dodda vine.
